Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,
The days are slowly becoming longer and the bulbs are popping their heads out to greet the sun. I write this email to you excited to feel the stirrings of new beginnings within the land and in ourselves. Daughters of the Goddess just celebrated our Annual Dedication Ritual a few days ago, it was a wonderful night of Sisterhood, celebration and renewing our vows to our Aloha Dianic path and this Temple. Please come to Her altar and join us as we walk this path to our next ritual and celebrate Bear Mother the First Nations Goddess of Ceremonies, Hunting, Magic and Wild Animals. I look forward to your presence.

In the tales of the Haida people of British Columbia, the Bear Mother is taken by bears who can transform into humans, because She ridiculed bears instead of honoring them. She gives birth to half-bear twin boys, who can appear as either human or bear. Her bear husband sacrifices his life so that She and Her children can return to Her people. The Bear Sons teach the Haida how to hunt and their tribe prospers. When Bear Mother dies, the Bear Sons return to their Bear Clan, their Bear father's generosity having ensured the survival of their mother’s people.
Bear Mother is symbolic of the circle of life, death and rebirth. She reminds us to go within when it is time to enter our cave. The Mama Bear guides and protects us on the journey into the Underworld of the Unconscious, where we ponder our lessons and gather our creative energy until it is time to emerge into our cycle of power once again. We emerge ready to hunt and aim for that which we have dreamed and visioned. She teaches us to use our magic and ceremonies to bring forth our passions and to change the world.
For this ritual please bring a brown or green candle and any symbols of her.
If you are interested in participating on one of our rituals please see our Participation page for more information.
