Spring Equinox marks the balance, equal length, of day and night. It also signals the turning towards warmer weather which I know we will all appreciate. It is a time of regeneration of the Earth, a time of birth and rebirth. Many cultures all over the world have recognized the Vernal Equinox for thousands of years. Today there are still an abundance of rituals and traditions surrounding the coming of Spring such as Earth Day, Easter, Passover, and the Persian New Year.
The Muses are the Greek Goddesses of literature, science and the arts. When asked they give inspiration to poets, writers and musicians, and anyone else who seeks their wisdom and creativity. We look to them at this time of new growth for guidance and enlightenment.
I have some exciting news to share. As many of you already know, my youngest sister Tanya is pregnant! We are expecting Baby Kingston to be born on Friday, April 7th. He has been a long time coming and through many valleys and peaks Goddess has given Her blessings and he is about to make his entrance into our world!
We want to give my nephew and Tanya a Spring Blessing at our Spring Equinox ritual so please join in the fun! I can’t think of a better way to surround them both with lots of love, protection, spirit, health and magick for Kingston’s entrance into the world and also Tanya becoming a mother.
For this ritual please bring a spring colored candle for the altar, any representations of Spring. We will also be sharing any gifts you have of the Muses. If you’re a writer bring some of your writing, a dancer ~ bring some music and share a dance. Are you a singer/musician ~ bring a song. Do you do crafts ~ bring something to show us. Anything that is inspired by any of the muses.
Please see our Participation page for more information on participating in gatherings and how to RSVP.
