The Mockingbird came back last night, what a beautiful sound. The Sun well down, and everything quiet in the middle of the night, then listen . . . . .in the distance I could hear her singing all of the bird songs that she’d heard during the day. That a glorious gift and a sure sign that Spring is coming. Come and celebrate with us!

Spring Equinox is a time for planting the seeds of what you are wanting to grow. This is a time for fertility and sowing seeds. The daylight and night are equal as the weather becomes warmer. The sunlight will begin to stay longer as the dawn begins earlier. As we gather to celebrate the new life around us, remember to focus on all that is awakening. The baby birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, and the plants are starting to sprout. This is a time for renewal of life!

Spring is the time of Idun (or Iðunn). She is the Goddess of rejuvenation and the keeper of the magic apples. It is believed that the Goddess and Gods sprang from a mixed race, were not all immortal at birth. They had to daily eat the wonderful golden apples from Idun’s garden to ward off diseases, disabilities, and old age. If they did so they would remain vigorous, beautiful, and young through the countless ages. Sounds familiar, an apple a day. Come and celebrate Spring and lovely Idun.
