2021 Kainoa

Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,

I have learned to really love this time of year.  The sun warming things up, the Earth vibrating with growing energy, animals very active, birds singing louder than ever it seems.  It is even more amplified as we are coming out of the darkness of the last year and figuring out the next steps.  It is a time to focus our positive attentions on where ever it is we want to go on the new path we are all on.  It feels like a time of celebration, of life, of love, of spirit, of change.  It is a special year for our temple as we are reaching our 25th anniversary at Summer Solstice.  I’m looking forward to the celebrations of the next few months, of the next few years.

Kaiona is a Hawaiian Goddess of Mount Ka’ala in the Waiʻanae Mountains, on the island of Oahu.   Clinging to the steep and wind-swept ridges, or on the cloudy summits, one can find the ‘Ohi’a Lehua tree with its red blossoms.  Kaiona can often be found walking thru the trees with their bright flowers as She moves across Her mountain.  She is known for her kindness and assistance to those in need.  Travelers who lose their way while crossing Her mountain call to Her for assistance in finding their way.  She sends Her ‘Iwa bird to guide them safely home.  And so Kaiona offers both physical and spiritual guidance for those who ask for Her assistance.  As we move forward into the sun of summer what guidance do you need to find your way?  How can we find the path to a joyful celebration of life?  She will help to lead you to the right path if you are willing to listen.

It is also a special time for one who has helped many people find their way to their paths.  Kahuna Leilani has been the guiding light for the temple and many who have come thru.  This month is her birthday month.  So we will be also celebrating our Kahuna’s birthday, her new path as a grandmother, along with the beginning of the celebration of our amazing temple’s 25th year.

For this ritual please bring a candle any color of the rainbow, wear your Hawaiian style/flowery apparel, red flowers, birds.  Please also bring your masks, and if you want to add to your Hawaiian style we a few beautiful flowery masks left that are fresh off the plane from Hawaii and in our shop.
