Womanfest Prosperity and Abundance with Goddess Laksmi and Kahuna Leilani!
Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,
It’s been such a beautiful Fall, gathering in ritual and ceremonies celebrating womyn’s rights and mysteries. We celebrated the Witch’s New Year, Samhain, with our Temple’s Annual Spiral Dance. Then we came together on Zoom to call on Selket, the Egyptian Scorpion Goddess. As we open up to the deep lessons of what is to come in the Winter, let us gather with Laksmi for an abundance and prosperity ritual. We are doubly blessed with a Taurus Full Moon to wish upon!

Laksmi is the Hindu Goddess of good fortune, prosperity, and abundance. She gives life and beauty to all. Anyone who looks to Her experiences happiness that comes on rather quickly. Laksmi brings wealth and blessings to your home and life. Her name means good luck and is derived from the Sanskrit word “Laksya”, meaning ‘aim’ or ‘goal’, and She is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. She has many other names including: The Lotus Goddess, Daughter of the Ocean of Milk (Ksirabdhitanaya), Ocean Born (Jaladhija), Lotus (Padma), Lotus Bearer (Padmavati) and Mother of the Universe (Jaganmata).
She also loves perfume that reminds Her of the sweet-smelling flowers of life and anything that sparkles as they are representations of the riches She grants to Her worshipers. Laksmi also represents all that is feminine and womyn who stand in beauty and grace. Don’t be afraid to take a chance on Her, as She will guide and support you through all of life’s luscious experiences.
Her main festival is Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Small diyas (earthen oil lamps) are placed all around the periphery of the house to welcome Her into the homes. She is celebrated in womyn’s ceremonies all over the world as well as worshipped daily.
Celebrating Laksmi in the Daughters of the Goddess is one of our most precious ceremonies and has been part of our lineage for decades. We like to give credit where credit is due to the origins of our ceremonies. Our money pouring ritual was passed down to us by our Elder Yeye Luisah Teish. Ashe Yeye Teish!
The Full Moon in Taurus is a perfect time to celebrate Laksmi and to give gratitude for what we have received. She helps manifest what we want. Come and give thanks for Her abundance, as well as call in the abundance in your life that you are seeking.
For the Ritual, please wear something Gold or Green. For the altar bring Pictures and Symbols of Laksmi. Some of Laksmi’s symbols include elephants, water, gold coins and rice. Holly and basil are sacred to Laksmi. Please bring a gold or green candle, your checkbooks and wallets, business cards, and any other financial items to put on the altar that you want action on or blessed.
Please bring a wide mouth jar with a tight-fitting lid and loose change, any oils, glitter, glass beads, dollars, special water, or any other ingredients you want added to the money water for wealth and prosperity. In the spirit of giving thanks to the Temple, please bring a tithe of 5 bills (of any denomination) wrapped in gold cord or ribbon.
If you still have remaining Money Water from a previous ritual, please use the water to bless your front steps, computer, money altar, desk at work, anyplace that you would like to bless with abundance. Give the remaining money in the jar a good rinse, giving Her thanks and praise for the magick She has brought you. Bring the left-over money to the ceremony or spend it on something special for your magickal practice.
Please see our participation page for more information on attending our ceremonies.
