New Moon in Leo with Damia of the Fertile Earth
Daughters of the Goddess..
Damia by Leopold Franz Kowalski
Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,
When we sat around the altar to celebrate Aine, there were so many new and seasoned sisters. We pretended to gallop on our horses and cool off in Her lake. It was a beautiful night full of laughter and playfulness. Now is the time to gather for Damia, to conquer and overcome all the negativity in your life

Damia, whose name means night, nursing mother, season, and subdual, was a Hora, one of the Goddesses of the seasons and natural portions of time. They measured the years by the constellations. She was worshiped by the Argives, the people of Argos and was given divine status when Her and Auxesia were wrongfully stoned to death.
Damia is also connected to the Mother Goddesses Demeter and Karp/Carpo. She brings back the fertility of the Earth and soil. This Hora was a Priestess that was called upon for food when people were hungry and couldn’t get their gardens to grow. The Epidaurus and Laconia also worshiped Her and She answered their call.
Let us call upon Damia to keep our lives fertile and full by conquering and overcoming all of the negativity that doesn’t serve us. For the altar, please bring a novena candle of any color of the rainbow to represent all womyn, any images of Her, olives, olive branches, and anything that represents your garden.
If you are interested in participating in our ritual please see our participation page, Mahalo!
