Mantras and chanting have been used spiritually for eons by peoples all over the world. It heals the body, protects the mind, and connects one to the divine. It helps to synchronize the left and right sides of the brain. And promotes relaxing (alpha) brain waves helping to improve brain function over time, and it is thought to possibly slow cognitive decline. Focusing on one mantra or chant helps us to connect, focus in on, and draw towards us the energy contained within.

Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of Knowledge and Music & the Arts. She is worshiped not only for academic knowledge but also for divine knowledge. Thru knowledge She brings order out of chaos. It is said “She is the river of consciousness that enlivens creation; She is the dawn-Goddess whose rays dispel the darkness of ignorance. Without Her there is only chaos and confusion.” Schools and libraries are Her temples: Books, pens, musical instruments, and all tools of the artist are Her tools. Saraswati is often depicted as a beautiful woman dressed in mostly white sitting upon a white lotus or a white swan. The peacock is Her herald. The color white symbolizing the purity of true knowledge.

Come and join us for an evening of chanting Her sacred mantra. Calm our minds and centering our focus upon our quests or endeavors. Please wear white if you can and bring mala beads. If you have a meditation pillow you usually use bring it along.
