Spring Equinox is a time of the year when the daylight and night are equal.  The sunlight stays longer, and the nights grow shorter from this point forward until the Winter Solstice. It’s becoming warmer, the Earth is heating up enough to start planting for the year.   It is a time of Rebirth and Renewal during which we start new projects, plant our intentions for the year, and tend to those things that are precious to us.  It is a time for planting the seeds of what you want to grow.  This is a time for fertility.  As we gather to celebrate the new life around us, remember to focus on all that is awakening.  Nature is waking up, birds are laying their eggs, chicks are appearing, buds are breaking, flowers are blossoming, trees are blooming, and the bees are buzzing around.  This is a time for renewal of life!

Flora is the goddess of Spring and specifically of flowers. Her name means flower. While she was considered a minor deity, she also had her own priesthood. She symbolized youth, vitality and fertility – as flowers in the springtime do.
