Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,

Holidays are interesting times, especially in family situations.  We just celebrated the 4^th of July here in the US.  Lots of fireworks with some causing fires, adding to the fires of emotion and spirit.  With all that is happening, divine justice, peace, and enlightenment would be blessed.  Both within ourselves and in our justice system.  I hope you all went through safely and in as much peace as possible.  During this time of high Sun, we travel to the islands of Japan and to Amaterasu.  It is fitting that we call on Amaterasu for Her guidance and protection.  Asking to shine Her light on any darkness and a beam of light to guide us into the dawn of the future.

Amaterasu is a Shinto Goddess from Japan.  As a Sun Goddess, she brings sunlight to the world, helping life to thrive and driving away the darkness physically & spiritually.   Being a main part of Her story I would say she is also a Goddess of joy as She comes out of Her cave of darkness into the party of life and light.  She ensures the changing of the seasons & the success of crops, giving Her a tie to both agriculture and growth.  As Queen of Heaven, She is in control of the Heavenly and Imperial Courts.  Amaterasu has the sacred power to rule and maintain balance in the heavens and on Earth.  She cultivates cooperation among the divine beings and humans, and inspires humans to seek order over chaos.  Currently She is embraced as a symbol of light, clarity, purity, and the divine feminine.  She is a protector of people, peace,  and a bringer of enlightenment.

Bringing light, enlightenment, and some peace into our hearts and minds is beautiful and needed.  And especially into our governments and judicial systems.  Come and join us as we call to Amaterasu and stand in Her light.  If you are interested in attending, here are some suggestions.  Please wear yellow, red or gold.  For the altar, any images of Amaterasu, mirrors, swords, jewels, gold, or yellow things.  We have a small feast after the ritual, so if inclined, bring something to share.
