Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,  We journeyed again through the deserts of the Southwest to Arizona and the Gem & Mineral show. Looking forward to sharing them with you. It is always such a beautiful drive. Many people tell me that the desert is just dead space, but I very much disagree. It is alive, wild, and beautiful. And from the deserts of the US we journey again to the deserts of Egypt and Celebrate Selket.

Selket is an ancient Egyptian Goddess depicted as a tall woman with a scorpion on Her head. She was worshipped all over ancient Egypt because of Her protective qualities. She rules over all poisonous creatures, especially scorpions, spiders, and snakes. Selket embodies both the venom and the antidote. Most of Her devotees were healers. This Goddess is revered for giving both the kiss of death and the breath of life. And She is the protector of all people especially of women in childbirth and children. Her magic came from knowing the land and its creatures and understanding the roles of life, death, and rebirth.

Stones have been used for healing since the beginning of time. Ancient Egyptians mined crystals and gemstones as aids for health, healing, protection, and well-being. All over the world cultures knew/know the powerful transformative energy of the stones and crystals.

It’s trying times we are walking through. With the fires in the south, the upheaval in our communities and country, and all that is going on now, coming together to heal and strengthen ourselves for what is to come is needed. What is it inside of you that needs to be released (to die) inside of you to move forward in strength? What is it that needs protection; you, your family and friends, your community, your country? What needs strengthening so we can stand strong like the stones of the Earth.

For the altar, please bring a candle the colors of the Sun, any images of the scorpion. Bring some of your healing stones and crystals to charge up on the altar. We’ll have some new ones for you to check out. Blessed be!
